Lisa Canavan is a Project Consultant in the Capital Programs Division of Draper & Associates, where she provides information technology, business systems analysis and project management services on Draper’s long-term engagement with the Atlanta Housing Authority (AHA).
EXPERIENCE
Ms. Canavan is a Project Management Professional (PMP), with more than 20 years experience in business process analysis, re-engineering, requirements definition, systems design, implementation, training and support in both the private and public sectors.
Since joining Draper in January 2008, she has been a member of the Real Estate Management Department Operations Team. In that capacity, she supports the consolidation of affordable property operations data from the third party property management companies, and the production of Management Operations reports and Community Safety reports.
In addition to the generation of critical management reports, Ms Canavan has also planned and executed projects to document AHA processes related to the physical inspection of affordable properties by HUD’s Real Estate Assessment Center (REAC), and the inspection of Project Based Rental Assistance (PBRA) properties by specialists in AHA’s Real Estate Management department.
She is currently providing project administration and control services on an AHA initiative to reduce the number of property management companies. She is also managing the compilation of data that will drive the analysis, planning, tracking and reporting of projects that AHA is proposing to be funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA).
Prior to joining Draper, Ms. Canavan held a number of information technology project management positions in the telecommunications industry, at an international aid agency, and in city government.
Highlights of her prior experience include:
- Analysis, requirements definition, design, planning, testing, training, progress monitoring, and status reporting for new/enhanced call center applications
- Business process analysis, re-engineering, issues documentation / tracking, monthly project analysis/status reporting, and facilitation of application strategy development for a suite of not-for-profit business applications
- Analysis, design, planning, and oversight of Web-based applications development /support for an major telecommunications company
- Planning and coordination of hardware/software upgrades, database administration, requirements definition, technology vendor selection, oversight of vendor performance, and end user technical training for a city government
