Alabama State University Retains Draper & Associates for Facility Condition Assessment
Alabama State University (ASU), a historically black university located in Montgomery, AL, has retained the services of Draper & Associates to conduct a detailed condition facility assessment of its campus. The purpose of this assessment is to determine the present condition of the universities facilities for purposes of preparing a capital improvement plan.
The Draper & Associates Team proposed for this engagement consists of strategic partners KHAFRA, an award-winning professional engineering, environmental, architectural and planning services firm, and Adams FM 2 a leader in the higher educational facilities planning and management industry.
Scheduled to begin in October 2007, the Draper & Associates team will be responsible for reviewing 19 of ASU's buildings, for the purpose of identifying deficient conditions in terms of deferred maintenance, capital renewal requirements, and building and life safety non-compliance issues. In addition, the team will provide a corrective action plan, with associated cost estimates, to the University, as well as an analysis of the University's growth trends and impact upon current and future facility needs.
