As a result of the experience and expertise gained from serving as the Planning and Program Management Consultants for the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia, DRAPER & ASSOCIATES was retained by the Bay Area Sports Organizing Committee (BASOC) to assist in their development of a Bid to host the 2012 Olympic Games. The San Francisco Bay Area is competing with seven other U.S. bid committees to win the nomination as the United States Olympic Committee's candidate city for the international competition.
Draper & Associates was engaged to develop the budget reflecting projected costs for preparing for and hosting the delivery of the Games in 2012. This effort also included developing macro planning assumptions to guide planning and budget development efforts, identifying projected sources and quantities of revenue, and completing a cash flow forecast.
The comprehensive budget developed reflects an understanding of the myriad of considerations that must be included in planning for a multi-billion dollar enterprise to deliver the world's premier athletic competition.
