Draper & Associates was the Scheduling Consultant for the Construction Management team on the Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center Expansion and Renovation project. This $140 million project included more than 1.2 million square feet of new construction space and a parking deck for 1,150 cars. The major components of the Civic Center Expansion included 300,000 SF of convention space (doubling the existing Exhibit Hall), a 2,500 space parking deck, the construction of a 10-story, 300,000 SF Medical Products Forum, renovation of an existing 400 Room Hotel and the addition of a new 16 story Hotel with 395 rooms. The project also provided facilities for the SEC Headquarters and the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame. This project was required to be designed, constructed and furnished in 2 and a half years to meet a critical date for the staging of a major convention in Birmingham .

- Summary Program Scheduling
- Design Scheduling of all components of the project
- Preliminary Construction Schedules based on in-progress design drawings
- Overall Project Schedules developed with the General Contractor and subcontractors for each component
- Bi-weekly Design Coordination Meetings
- Bi-weekly, and on occasion weekly, Construction Coordination Meetings
- Material Status Logs for all projects
- As-built schedule development and documentation
- Change Control System to monitor the status of Contractors' Requests for Information, Architects Supplemental Instructions, Proposal Requests and Outstanding Submittals
