This $65 million project encompassed a 300-acre horse racing facility with grandstand, track, parking, dormitories, 1200 stables, and other ancillary buildings. Draper & Associates' scope of services was to develop an Overall Project Schedule in conjunction with Contractor and Subcontractors and detailed Near Term Schedules on a bi-weekly basis to monitor construction activities as required. Weekly Project Coordination Meetings were conducted throughout the project to evaluate construction progress relative to the Overall Project Schedule and to develop and update the Material Status Log to track the submittal, approval, ordering and ultimate delivery of all project materials and equipment.
In addition, Draper & Associates assisted the race track Owners in planning, scheduling and expediting the organization, hiring of staff and systems installation and start-up of all functions and facilities including:
- Video system including Sony giant screen
- Tote system including computer installation and programming
- Marketing/publicity
- Food/beverage services
- Security
- Administration
- State Racing Commission systems and facilities
The Track opened on schedule and fully operational in March 1987.
