For more than 15 years, Draper & Associates has been blessed with continuous work on the campus of Pensacola Christian College . During that time, Draper & Associates has assisted with the scheduling and program management of more than 15 building on the college's campus. The college's most recent addition to its campus, referred to as their "Crown Jewel", is a $74 million, 300,000 square foot multi-purpose auditorium that seats more than 6,300 people. Also known by its proper name, the Crowne Centre, this state of the art facility combines excellence in aesthetics and technology and features numerous amenities for the college's academic and spiritual needs.
Draper & Associates provided both construction schedule development and construction monitoring services during all phases of the project. A Draper & Associates consultant conducted bi-weekly project coordination meetings with the owner, the general contractor, principal subcontractors, and all involved parties. During these meetings, progress was measured and correlated to the Overall Project Schedule, action items were identified with responsibility for completion and commitments to completion dates, and detailed near-term schedules were developed to ensure timely accomplishment of Overall Project Schedule target dates. Updated schedules and Progress Reports were compiled and promptly distributed to all project participants.
Features inside include, a grand staircase to the balcony, with the foyer featuring a 30-foot-long chandelier, an 18 by 24 foot magnification screen above the pulpit, two wedding chapels that seat 200 people each, and a two-story, 100 foot revolving stage platform. In addition, to classrooms located on the second and third floors, the area below the balcony can be divided into three seminar rooms, each accommodating up to 600 people. The building also houses spacious orchestra and choir rehearsal areas, hospitality rooms and a nursery. Aesthetic features to the building include top-notch finishes such as glass handrails and wood trim, stained glass art work from the Hogan Studio in California and suspended ceiling panels that look like clouds and reflect the mix of sound from the state-of-the-art sound system.
