Our Lady of Mercy High School has been designed based on the input of Catholic educators and education design experts. Great care has been taken to provide 21 st century technology in a secure, Catholic environment.
DRAPER & ASSOCIATES was engaged to provide comprehensive construction scheduling and project controls. Draper & Associates provided both construction schedule development and construction monitoring services during all phases of the project. A Draper consultant conducted bi-weekly project coordination meetings with the owner, the general contractor and principal subcontractors. During these meetings, progress was measured and correlated to the Overall Project Schedule, action items were identified with responsibility for completion and commitments for completion dates, and detailed near-term scheduling was developed to ensure timely accomplishment of Overall Project Schedule target dates. Updated schedules and Progress Reports were provided promptly to all project participants.
Located on a 54-acre site, the Catholic high school is 122,000 SF, sized to house 500 students in grades 9 through 12. This space includes 20 classrooms, computer and science labs, and a learning lab. Additionally, students at Our Lady of Mercy benefit from dance and drama rooms, an art lab, choral room, media center, cafeteria, and a 450-seat auditorium. The focal point of the building is the chapel with a beautiful stained glass window accenting the sanctuary with its reconciliation rooms.
The $14 million high school also incorporates a number of athletic facilities, including a gymnasium, tow weight rooms, a field house, concessions building, soccer field and competition football field. Additionally, students enjoy a dual-purpose baseball/softball field, three tennis courts, and a track & field event area. A 1000-seat lighted stadium will be a campus landmark.
