Turner Properties completed the buildout of their Techwood Campus with the $75 million Phase II construction. This phase added two office buildings and one above ground parking deck. The precast concrete parking deck provides approximately 950 parking spaces on the northwest corner of the campus. The 230,000 square foot Building "D" was designed as an eight story speculative office building and now houses personnel from the CNN Center. One level of on-grade Plaza level parking is also provided. Building "C" was scheduled for construction after the Parking Deck due to the visitor's parking being located in the building footprint at the time. This structure encompass approximately 115,000 square feet and contains two levels of parking under the six occupied floors. Both office buildings are cast-in-place post-tensioned concrete structures with brick and glass curtainwall exterior skin. The design includes an atrium to connect building "C" with the existing building 1010.
Draper & Associates was retained by the Owner, Turner Properties, to develop the Overall Design Project Schedule and coordinate bi-weekly design meetings with the Owner, Architect and all consultants. The process included facilitating meetings, documenting action items, preparation and maintenance of the near term schedule and providing a record of decisions made throughout the course of the project. Draper & Associates was also a member the Partnering Advisory Board, the group that ultimately determine the direction of the Project.
Due to Draper & Associates working relationship with the contractor Turner Properties, the scheduling and project management team was able to bring the project to a successful close-on time and under budget. |
