Westfields Corporate Center at Dulles (Westfields) is a self-contained corporate campus containing Fortune 500 Corporate Headquarters, Hotels, Restaurants and R&D Facilities. Located just minutes from the Nations Capitol, 1,100 acres of rolling fields laced with streams were assembled by developer The Henry A. Long Company. 

Draper & Associates/NCT working with the Owner and his development team, programmed a phased master schedule for developing the land in such a manner to allow the flexibility to sell individual large tracts which would be supported by the necessary utilities and roads. 

In order to accomplish this flexibility, major state highway improvements were necessary to handle the traffic increase associated with a completed development of more than 16 million square feet of office space. Major concerns such as design and construction of a storm water management system that would function during a phased construction program created challenges for the team. Other utilities such as electricity, water, sanitary sewer, telephone and gas had the same concern. Wet land issues, existing easements, and civil war historical sites added to the constant interface between the construction and design teams.
