Near Term Schedules, developed from the Overall Project Schedules, also serve as an agenda, focusing project participants on the Near Term project activities, continuously re-securing near term commitments to support the broader OPS goals and objectives.
Near Term Schedules provide a more detailed look at specific activities within a given time frame, typically eight (8) weeks (Example shown below). These schedules serve as a day-to-day management tool, allowing project managers and other key participants to status particular tasks on a weekly basis. As necessary, the schedule can be revised to reflect either a plan of acceleration to make up for inadequate performance, or an alternative, better approach to the remainder of the work to be done.
