Franciscan Health Michigan City
Regional health care just got even better with the 2019 opening of the $243 million Franciscan Health replacement hospital, located on an 86 acre site in Michigan City, IN. This new 440,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility houses 123 private inpatient beds, as well as obstetric services, a cardiac program, inpatient rehabilitation and behavior health services in the main tower. In addition, there is an adjacent space for the hospital’s medical offices, as well as its robust outpatient services with cutting-edge diagnostic imaging equipment and the most advanced, life-saving innovations and patient amenities.
Draper provided both construction schedule development and construction monitoring services during all phases of this design-build project. Draper conducted bi-weekly update meetings during the construction phase, reviewing progress with the Owner, Franciscan Health, General Contractor Tonn & Blank, and all active Subcontractors. Near Term Schedules, detailed day-to-day implementation schedules derived from the Overall Project Schedule, were provided and served as the focal point of discussion during the update meetings. Construction of this complex facility was completed within two-and-a half years.
Testimonial
The value add that Draper & Associates provided on our replacement hospital project was well worth the money. While we did not have in-house scheduling resources, the Draper process proved to be flexible and functional for our project team and subcontractors. The scheduling experience, ability to adjust “on the fly” with our changes, projections through the OPS, and detail provided by the NTS format, proved to be an asset to the project. I would highly recommend Draper’s services, and consider engaging with them for another project.
