Richard Branson’s newest Virgin Hotel is setting down roots in New York City’s NoMad neighborhood, close to many of the city’s most famous attractions. With construction topping out in January 2019, the 510-foot tall, 39-story skyscraper has approximately 300,000 square feet of newly built space and features a contemporary glass façade. Upon completion, the Virgin Hotel will be one of the largest and tallest hotels south of Midtown. Its 465 rooms will rest on a glossy 90,000-square-foot podium stocked with dining and drinking establishments, outdoor terraces, meeting rooms, lounges and a fitness center. The uppermost floors of the tower will have a sky lobby club room with a private roof deck and banquet hall. In addition, Swingers, an upscale indoor miniature golf course has leased 22,000 square feet of retail space in the basement for its first American location.
Draper & Associates is currently providing both construction schedule development and construction monitoring services to its client Flintlock Construction through the duration of the project. Flintlock is on point to complete construction of the Virgin Hotel sometime in 2020.
